The rectangle / Esthetics and Work

Possessor of an absolutely own language, Zaida González work is built based in an imaginary richness , in debt of her obsessions and the most intimate interests, and in general, the popular Latin-American visuality and in particular the Chilean one. Her esthetic, easy to recognize, hides a complex inner social and political criticism that appear frequently under a blunt ironic or evocative from apparently an infantile universe. Her work fuses sociologic types, adopted beings, mythological characters, religious and literary references, domestic animals, among others, sharing paradoxical warmth between them. All of them participate in a photographic ritualism direct by the author. These residents swarm around built worlds where they share space and hierarchy with exquisitely chosen objects, loaded with symbolism and situating the protagonists in an ideal defined surrounding. Owner of her individual range of colors, achieved in her first pictures applying manual techniques over analogous supports. Often, her work needs to be understood from the tridimensionality in where the picture is framed, where the objects showing it, become part of it.
